This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It motivates me. The lyrics are exactly what I feel. The words “I will not choke on failure” are something I live by.
I love this song.
It seems that I’ve lost my touch for writing music. I used to write songs all the time with my bands, and now I just can’t do it. I’ve hit a huge wall and I can’t get over it.
I’m going to try writing a song tonight. Hopefully I can make something decent.
I’m so full of myself. My computer background is my name. Fail.
I’ve been extremely busy lately. I’m sorta in this internship thing at the studio, or what we like to call a “working apprenticeship”. I’ve been running some errands for Chris, like this past week I’ve been making a bunch of phone calls and emailing schools about getting some advertisements in their school newspapers. Chris has been getting me in the studio a lot lately, having me sit in on some intense meetings with bands and even record label meetings, which I truly appreciate, because I get to have a first-hand experience on some real-life scenarios and deals that are being made. I can pretty much use these experiences as business classes. I feel much more productive now that I’m getting into the business side of things, and now that Chris has been calling on me a lot to run some errands like making phone calls, emailing, running small sessions, and sitting in on some meetings, I finally feel like I’m taking it to a higher level, not to mention still taking the recording classes and doing whatever it takes to become a better engineer. The future looks bright.
So finally the day came and No Bragging Rights, Destruction of a Rose, and Modern Day Escape rocked Del Rio. Tonight is Glory couldn’t make it, but oh well it was still fun. Even with a stupid football game going on the same night, we still managed to get around 50 people, which, according to the bands, was a little above average compared to what they had been getting on their tour. The bands had a good time, we got to hang after the show for a while, and they all want to come back. The only reason any of this even happened was because I met No Bragging Rights at Warped Tour and I let them wash up and hang at my apartment after the show was over. Right away we clicked and Josh and I invited them to play in Del Rio.
I’m glad we could bring them down on their last tour before they write and record their new album, and I can’t wait to hear their new material and bring them back on their next tour. It’s cool that they actually remembered my name and remembered going to my apartment. Hopefully we can continue working with them. These dudes are my bros now. Legit.
